My wife and I recently moved back to Toronto. Having grown up here, I feel like I've moved back home. In fact, our apartment is about ten blocks from the house I grew up in.
Toronto is a huge change for us. For the last year we've been living in Collingwood, ON, which is a small town two hours north of the city. While it was nice for a time, you can get board ... something that doesn't happen in Toronto.
Being a slave to advertising, which you'll realize as I tell you more about myself, one of the things that I love is all the billboards, signs, car wraps, and other great forms of advertising that are present everywhere you look. Within the past two weeks, hundreds of billboards have poped up that appear to be a gift, wrapped in blue paper with a silver bow. There is no writing on them to tell you what they are advertising, or what they represent. They're just here, there, and EVERYWHERE. Sitting in our living room, I can see a billboard that has it on both sides. Just up the street, there's one at a streetcar stop (pictured above). They're also on busses and streetcars all over the city.
Truthfully, they're driving me nuts. I want to know what they're selling. In fact, I want whatever they're selling !!!! See, I told you I was a slave to advertising :)
The only hint that I can give you about who might be advertising this mysterious gift is that they must be a large corporation, with a huge advertising budget (maybe Rogers, Bell, or even the City of Toronto). Lets face it, these billboards, buss/streetcar stops, buses, and streetcars can't be cheap !!!
If you have any idea what's under the wrapping, please share with me your knowledge.
More to come. Blue
